Meet us
The MAS ETH DFAB programme is jointly organized by the Chair for Digital Building Technologies and Gramazio Kohler Research, with both chairs playing an active role throughout the course. Their involvement is particularly prominent during the second-trimester project and third-trimester investigation thesis, where academic research merges with student work. Additionally, the programme is supported by a full-time teaching team that closely guides students throughout the year.
Professor Benjamin Dillenburger
Architect Benjamin Dillenburger is Professor for Digital Building Technologies at the Institute of Technology In Architecture (ITA) at the Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich.
His research focuses on the development of building technologies based on the close interplay of computational design methods, digital fabrication and new materials. read more about Benjamin Dillenburger
Professor Fabio Gramazio
Fabio Gramazio is an architect with multi-disciplinary interests ranging from computational design and robotic fabrication to material innovation. In 2000, he founded the architecture practice Gramazio & Kohler in conjunction with his partner Matthias Kohler, where numerous award-wining designs have been realised. read more about Fabio Gramazio
Professor Matthias Kohler
Matthias Kohler is an architect and co-founder of Gramazio & Kohler. His research focuses on additive digital fabrication techniques used for building non-standardized architectural components. Starting with modules such as bricks as a basic material, the research has expanded the spectrum to include wood, clay, concrete and other fluid materials. read more about Matthias Kohler
