Infrastructure & Labs
The MAS ETH DFAB programme is deeply rooted in the research conducted at the Insitute of Technology in Architecture (ITA), utilising the institute's exceptional infrastructure and facilities. These include the state-of-the-art Robotic Fabrication Lab (RFL), designed for large-scale robotic fabrication and 1:1 fabrication, leveraging the wide repertoire of ABB robots and cutting-edge processes developed in the lab.
In addition to the fabrication facilities, the Immersive Design Lab (IDL) offers cutting-edge resources in the realm of Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our state-of-the-art lab network facilitates comprehensive full-scale testing of building components and systems across various domains and is at the center of the work done with the team and the students at the MAS ETH DFAB programme.
The MAS ETH DFAB programme is also affiliated with the external page National Center of Competence and Research in Digital Fabrication (NCCR DFAB), supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). This includes 100+ multidisciplinary researchers from the fields of architecture, engineering, robotics and computer science who collaboratively drive large scale projects that spawn new research domains.
